August 6, 2015: Blair Thompson, an Odyssey senior research engineer, is also a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and is currently the Vice Commandant of the Reserve National Security Space Institute (RNSSI) at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. He was recently invited to guest lecture at the Australian Defense Force Academy and University of New South Wales in Canberra, Australia. During his week-long visit, Blair lectured on rendezvous and proximity operations to graduate students, faculty, and staff in both the Master of Space Engineering and Master of Space Operations programs. While in Canberra, Blair also visited the Deep Space Network (DSN) station at Tidbinbilla. There, he was given an inside tour of the operations center and of several of the large antennas used for tracking spacecraft in deep space. Odyssey congratulates Blair on this opportunity and honors him for his service!
