May 11, 2016: SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft has completed the eighth of its Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) cargo missions to the International Space Station (ISS). Odyssey engineers supported from the Johnson Space Center Mission Control Complex today as Dragon was released by ISS this morning at 13:19 GMT. Dragon re-entered a few hours later, successfully splashing down in the Pacific Ocean at 18:31 GMT. Odyssey’s role in Dragon development was extensive, including Dragon Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) and System Engineering design support, as well as Independent Verification and Validation of all safety critical software.
