November 28, 2016: The Orbital ATK Cygnus has successfully completed the OA-5 mission, its sixth Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Odyssey engineers supported from the Johnson Space Center Mission Control Complex as Cygnus was released and departed from ISS on November 21, with release occurring at 14:22 GMT. After releasing several Cubesats and conducting the Saffire-II experiment, re-entry occurred on November 28, with successful destructive re-entry completed at 12:05 GMT.
Odyssey’s role in Cygnus development was extensive, including Systems Engineering design support, Concept of Operations development, Robotic Capture design and analysis, and Independent Verification and Validation of all safety critical software.
